Congratulations to Jen Blanchette, 2007 Miss U.P. Rodeo!!

Wanted: Miss U.P. Rodeo Queen Pageant Contestants!!

Are you a young woman between the ages of 16 & 22 who enjoys the sport of rodeo and has some knowledge of horsemanship skills? If so, you may be interested in running for Miss U.P. Rodeo Queen.

The role of Miss U.P. Rodeo is an important one in promoting the Upper Peninsula Championship Rodeo. Duties of the queen include, but are not limited to, traveling to rodeos through out Northern Wisconsin and assisting committees with their rodeo, while at the same time promoting our own U.P. Championship Rodeo. Equine related events such as 4-H horse shows, Escanaba's Equi-fest and Madison's Mid-West Horse Fair are among the other opportunities available to help promote the rodeo.

Young women running for Miss U.P. Rodeo Queen have the opportunity to meet other young women from the U.P. and northern Wisconsin who have similar interests. New friendships and many memories can be made. As queen candidates, the young women can also see how the rodeo is put on, from a "behind the chutes" perspective. They can meet the stock contractor, the rodeo announcer, the specialty acts and the professional rodeo cowboys and cowgirls that will be performing at the 40th annual U.P. Championship Rodeo.

In 1968, Iron River was named "the rodeo capital of Michigan" and has since then been an integral part of the tourism industry in Iron County. U.P. Championship Rodeo is the longest running Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association Rodeo in the state of Michigan. Join us in the nearly 40 year tradition by running for Miss U.P. Rodeo 2007.
